Ducklet Docs

Ducklet is more than a bookmark manager — save what you see, read it later, turn it into action, or keep it in your Library for good.

Saving with the extension

Once the Chrome extension is installed (Edge is coming soon), any page can enter Ducklet in three seconds. Here is every way to save — all of it synced to your workspace in real time.

One-tap save from the toolbar

Click the Ducklet icon next to the address bar and a save panel drops down at the top of the page — pick where the page should go. The panel captures the title and source automatically and confirms the save.

  • Later: read-later with an optional expiry date — reminded before it lapses
  • Todo: pages that need action — schedule them in the workspace
  • Library: long-term keeps, with a folder picker built into the panel
  • If you are signed out, the panel shows sign-in first, then you continue

One-shortcut save

Press Ctrl+Shift+F (⌘+Shift+F on macOS) to drop the current page into the Library default folder — no panel at all. It is the fastest way while researching.

The new tab dashboard

New tabs open the Ducklet dashboard: review your Later list, organize open tabs into saved groups, browse the Library panel, and reach settings and the trash. Tidy up before closing tabs and the workspace stays clean.

Expiry reminders

Give a Later link an expiry date and the extension reminds you via a browser notification before it goes stale — important pages never die quietly.

When saving is not available

Browser-internal pages (like chrome:// settings and the new tab) cannot be saved — Ducklet tells you via a notification. If you are signed out, the save panel shows the sign-in view first, then saving continues.

Inside the workspace

Saving is just the start. The workspace organizes everything into three layers: reading now, doing next, and keeping for good.

Later: read it later

Park what you are not reading yet in Later. Set expiry dates, get notified before links lapse, and archive when done so the list stays clean.

Todo: what comes next

Turn pages that need action into Todos with notes, priority, and reminders — check them off when done and the progress stays clear.

Library: keep for good

Library keeps long-term content in four types:

  • Links: title, source, and preview captured automatically
  • Notes: jot down thoughts and excerpts
  • Images: saved via right-click or manual upload
  • Files: PDF, Word, Excel, and more, stored in place

Folders and tags

Use folders for long-term structure and tags for cross-cutting labels — combine them to filter, and nothing gets messy at scale.

Trash

Deleted items land in the trash and can be restored anytime — accidents are reversible.

Using each platform

Every entry leads to the same workspace — pick whichever fits the moment. Edge and Safari extensions are coming soon; the Web App is available in the meantime.

Sync and account

One account across every device, with data kept in step in real time.

Real-time sync

Sign in with the same account on the extension, Web App, and mobile — Later, Todo, and Library stay in step automatically. Save on one device and it appears on the rest.

Signing in

The Web App and mobile apps support email magic-link sign-in — no passwords. Once the extension is signed in it shares the browser account state, so you never sign in twice.

Data and privacy

Your content is processed only for sync, sign-in, previews, and smart search — nothing else. See the Policies page for details and the account-deletion entry.

FAQ

Common questions about saving, syncing, accounts, and billing.

The features are identical. The extension is best for one-tap page saving (plus right-click image saves and a shortcut); the Web App needs no install and is ideal for deeper organizing and search.

Everything signed in with the same account syncs automatically — Later, Todo, and Library stay in step. Save on one device and it appears on the rest.

Set an expiry date on a link and the extension reminds you via a browser notification beforehand; on mobile it arrives as a push notification. Important pages never die quietly.

Links (web pages), notes, images, and files (PDF, Word, Excel, and more). Pages come from the extension or share sheet; the rest are added in the workspace. Text inside files and images is searchable via OCR.

Describe the context in plain language (source, topic, rough time) and Duck Pro matches by meaning; you can also fall back to keyword search for exact title matches. If the content was never saved, save it first and search again.
